Forfeit and Withdraw (January 2000)
some time
a little bit of time
I undulate
and take everything with me.
there’s this way,
this way that I do things
I know, I seem to take everything with me
moving in waves
and circles,
maybe half circles,
draining nothing,
ready for mud and hands.
I don’t need the artifice
of your look,
there is nothing behind this
the curtain draws
and you flee
I see the last lick of the gesture
collapse around the corner.
I catch it
and wanted it,
until I decided that
throwing up my hands
summons insulation
for this large and weak interior.
